Become a 2021 Downtown Ambassador  

Apply and attend training on July 13 at 9 a.m. or July 20 at 5 p.m. 

From July 15 through Sept. 30, Downtown Ambassadors are needed to staff the information booth on Pier View Way on the west side of the pedestrian underpass. Ambassadors will welcome visitors and locals to Downtown Oceanside and provide visitors with information to help them explore the area and enhance their Downtown experience. The program will operate Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.


We are looking for highly enthusiastic individuals ages 16 and older to serve weekly as Downtown Ambassadors in two-hour shifts. Downtown Ambassadors will direct visitors to restaurants, museums, retail shops, public parking and public transportation as well as provide general event information. Ambassadors will also provide information about current and future developments in Downtown Oceanside and will be tasked with collecting pertinent data from our visitors to help improve future visits to Downtown.

Downtown Ambassadors will be trained in all aspects of the program and will be provided with the tools necessary to relay the best information to our visitors. High school students can fulfill their community service requirement by participating in the program. Volunteers are required to complete our volunteer application and attend a training sessions for Downtown Ambassadors, on July 13 at 9 a.m. or July 20 at 5 p.m. at the MainStreet office at 701 Mission Ave. Volunteer applications can be completed in advance at the links below or onsite at the end of each training session.

About the Downtown Ambassador Program

MainStreet Oceanside collaborates with Visit Oceanside and the City of Oceanside Economic Development to bring a volunteer-driven Downtown Ambassador Program to Downtown Oceanside. The program highlights Oceanside attractions and businesses for tourists and residents who are visiting the Downtown area. The program is intended to make our Downtown visitors feel welcome as they experience and explore the city.
