The Sunset Market is expanding!
On September 5, the market will also be open on Pier View Way between Coast Highway and Freeman Street.
MainStreet Oceanside is excited to announce the expansion of the Oceanside Sunset Market, set to debut on Thursday, September 5, 2024, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Due to a significant increase in foot traffic and vendors, the Sunset Market will extend its footprint to accommodate this growth, offering a more diverse and expansive experience for the community.
The Market will now include an additional 38 spaces for vendors and entertainment options stretching from Coast Highway to Freeman Street, including Artist Alley, and open new opportunities for local businesses.
Downtown restaurants will have the chance to showcase pop-up menus, driving traffic to their storefronts while offering market-goers a taste of their culinary offerings. In addition to new vendor opportunities, the expansion will create jobs for street marshals and maintenance crew members, mirroring the current operations in the existing market area.

Featuring up to 200 merchants and spanning four city blocks, MainStreet Oceanside’s Sunset Market is San Diego County's top weekly food and music street fair. Every Thursday from 5-9 p.m., thousands of residents and visitors alike gather here to enjoy hot food from around the world, gourmet goodies and desserts, eclectic shopping and live entertainment. Located on Pier View Way west of Coast Highway in Downtown Oceanside since 2007, this free, family-friendly event also features Dorothy’s KidZone with children’s activities.
