Polish Pierogis - Authentic Polish Dishes at the Market!

The Sunset Market is not your ordinary street fair food fest. Did you know the Sunset Market has over 80 food booths featuring food from all over the world? Each vendor is carefully selected by MainStreet Oceanside’s Director of Special Projects, Kim Heim, and Sunset Market Manager, Cathy Nykiel. Bottom line, the food has to be good and the food has to be unique from other vendors in the market.

Our food vendors are dedicated and passionate about serving you the best! They go to great lengths to create authentic dishes to tempt your taste buds. For example Alicja Miechowski, owner of Taste of Poland, is passionate about creating authentic Polish dishes using her family’s recipes. Upon retiring from nursing, Alicja looked into starting a food booth featuring her homemade Polish treats. Before she opened her booth, Alicja searched for authentic pierogies in Southern California without luck. Pierogies are serious business in Polish food and Alicja’s search led her to Chicago. All of Alicja’s pierogies are brought in from Chicago and folks come from all over come to enjoy them along with her homemade sauerkraut and other dishes. You can find Taste of Poland on the south end of Pier View Way at the Sunset Market, Thursdays from 5 - 9 pm, held year-round.
